With the poetry project, I have looked back at a previous stop-frame animation that I produced in my first year at college. I will look to create a similar style using objects as the main focus, as I feel that they translate better in stop motion than if I were to use people.
I was thinking of looking at the poem ‘Balloons’ by Sylvia Plath for inspiration for my piece, as I felt that it has many interpretations which I have investigated within my A-level English Language and Literature course. I was aiming translate my own interpretation of the poem into a stop-frame animation piece. I will look at several ideas before deciding on the most successful idea in my view.
My initial thoughts were to take the personification of the balloons in the poem and translate this into visual animation of inanimate objects.  The balloons, in my opinion, were a symbol for unexpected events breaking up the banality of every day life. I was looking to create a piece that conveys society's need for dramatic/exciting events. This translation would have created a similar atmosphere to what I have obtained from reading and studying the poem.
